In the past two weeks in Suffolk County, police said that they’ve received reports from a homeowner and local business in Shirley regarding swastikas and anti-Semitic speech that was spray-painted on a fence and building.
Police said that a Flintlock Drive resident reported on Monday, Nov. 29 that overnight a person had spray-painted a swastika on a fence in the yard.
The following day, on Tuesday, Nov. 30, an employee at Ziegler Field, within the Calabro Ballfields on Dawn Drive also reported multiple swastikas painted on the side of the sports complex.
A third set of incidents were reported on Monday, Dec. 6 first by the same homeowner, who had a new swastika painted on the fence, and later by the employee at the ballfields, who reported images and an anti-Semitic word that was on the side of the building.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers has offered a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads to an arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information can contact investigators by calling 1-800-220-TIPS or submitting an anonymous tip online.
